Progeryon ist eine Gattung der Krabben innerhalb der Familie Progeryonidae mit fünf Arten.cite-ref-worms-1-0[1] Sie besiedeln den Kontinentalhang und Tiefseeboden in Tiefen zwischen 350 und 2165 m in der gemäßigte Klimazone des Nordatlantiks und im Indopazifik.cite-ref-poore-2-0[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 47 mm lang, glatt und trapezförmig. Die Stirn ist lamellenartig und weist eine seichte mittige Furche auf. Der vordere Seitenrand ist konvex und hat an der breitesten Stelle einen Zahn. Der dritte und vierte Somit des Pleons sind bei Männchen frei beweglich.cite-ref-poore-2-1[2]
